Free Resource Alert: Go Beyond Memorizing FA Conditions

This Vanderbilt University Lambert Lab resource provides a practical training support on trial-based functional analysis (TBFA), including procedures for arranging test and control conditions, collecting and graphing data, and interpreting results.

For exam prep, this resource connects directly to TCO F.6: Design and evaluate functional analyses, while also providing useful practice for C.11: Interpret graphed data and D.6: Critique and interpret data from single-case experimental designs.

As you work through the training, practice identifying the variables manipulated in each condition, explaining why each condition functions as a test or control, and interpreting patterns of responding to determine whether the data demonstrate a functional relation. Move beyond simply memorizing FA conditions by using the examples in the TBFA resource to practice the type of applied analysis likely to be required in scenario- and data-based exam questions.

Congratulations Emma Koons: 2026 Fall Scholarship Recipient

Emma developed an appreciation for ABA when she was just 9 years old, after witnessing her younger brother thrive from receiving ABA therapy. It wasn't until college that her appreciation for ABA grew into a passion. After earning a Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Emma gained hands-on experience teaching children with special behavioral needs while being mentored by a BCBA® who gave her more exposure to ABA principles and inspired her to pursue her Master's degree in Autism and Applied Behavior Analysis.

Emma hopes to become a BCBA® to help break down the stigma around ABA therapy and to provide support to those in need by providing ethical and evidence-based therapy in her community.

PTB is honored to support Emma on her journey to certification. As a scholarship recipient, she will receive complimentary registration to the PTB Big Exam Prep Workshop and a one-on-one mentoring session with PTB founder Dana Meller.
