Wyatt vs. Stickney

A federal court ruling that established that individuals with mental illness or intellectual disabilities, who are involuntarily living in institutions, have a constitutional right to personal treatment with minimum standards of care, which include the right to individualized treatment plans, safe and sanitary living conditions, and adequate staffing.
