Response prompts

A temporary antecedent stimulus in the form of verbal instruction, a model, or physical support that is delivered close in time with the relevant SD to help the client engage in a correct response until the natural SD gains stimulus control.

Hint: Think of all prompts as something to be faded, temporarily in place to help the client emit the correct response, and then faded. Response prompts are those extra verbal cues, physical help or a model of the desired response.
